Founded in 1902, The Children’s Institute of today provides pediatric rehabilitation through The Hospital; educational programming through The Day School; and adoption and family enrichment services through Project STAR.

Last year, 6,500 children and families were served by The Children’s Institute. The organization provided approximately $4.4 million in uncompensated care in that same year. This represents 12% of The Children’s Institute’s budget—a figure that is more than double the national average. And the need for this uncompensated care continues to rise—the figure is projected to increase to $5.6 million this year. But The Children’s Institute remains steadfast in its commitment to provide care to the children and families they serve, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
